Before you get your car hire, we know that you could have many questions about the service, the payment, the fuel disposition… So we reunited here our frequently asked questions for you.

Payment of your cheap car hire in Malaga

Can I pay my car hire in cash?

It is not possible to pay with cash, all bookings must be paid by credit card once the contract has been signed at the Airport of Málaga or Maria Zambrano’s Train Station.

Do I have to pay when I pre-book online?

When pre-Booking you won’t need to pay anything in advance, we don’t require a credit card to guarantee your Booking.

Payment is done directly at Malaga Airport once you have filled in the rental agreement with our representative.

Do I have to pay a deposit when I Book or when I pick up the car?

All our cars have an excess of 600 euros that will be retained in your credit card until the drop off of the car. Once verified that there is no damage to the car, we will proceed to refund the excess. Our company will return your excess within 48 hours after delivery of the vehicle to our facilities.

Please note that some banks take a few days to make this deposit.

Can I see the price of the vehicle before making the reservation?

Yes you can see the price of the vehicle before the booking, just enter the solicited information on the website and it will show you the prices according to the chosen group and chosen extras

How can I cancel my car booking and will it cost me anything?

You can cancel your reservation at any time without any cost. We recommend you to please notify us at least 24 hours in advance via email: bookings@cheapmalagacarhire.com, or via telephone on the following number: +34 654 553 932.

Insurance Management of your car rental

What kind of insurance does the car include?

All our cars are partial damage cover insured. We will retain an excess on your credit card depending on the type of car selected.

When the retained excess is returned?

Our company will return your excess within 48 hours after delivery of the vehicle to our facilities.

Please note that some banks take a few days to make this deposit.

Can I avoid paying the excess?

If you hire our full-risk insurance, you avoid the excess

What is not included in our full risk Insurance?

All our cars are fully insured no excess fee, however, our insurance does not cover the following damages:

  • Wheels and tires
  • Glass of any type
  • The undercarriage of the vehicle
  • Any loss or damaged keys
  • Cleanliness of the inside of the vehicle
  • Damage to the engine due to negligence
  • Clutch

How many drivers are allowed to drive?

CHEAP MALAGA CAR HIRE allows without additional cost 2 drivers per rental agreement, only the drivers included in the rental agreement are allowed to drive the vehicle.

Can I drive outside of Spain?

The cars from Cheap Malaga Car Hire vehicles can only move freely within Spain. As an exception, you can’t drive to the cities of Ceuta and Melilla.

Do I have 24h road assistance?

You have included in the rental agreement 24 hours road assistance in English 365 days a year

Pick up and return information

Where do I need to pick up my car at Malaga Airport and Maria Zambrano's Station?

At Cheap Malaga Car Hire, we provide our clients with a personalised meet & Greet service.

Once you have landed and collected your luggage from the baggage reclaim belt, went across the sliding doors and proceed straight ahead into the arrivals hall, do NOT turn right towards the exit sign.

Our representative will be waiting for you holding a sign with the company name.

Once you are with him, he will accompany you to our office close to the airport where your vehicle will be provided.

If your booking is at Malaga train station Renfe our representative will pick you up and drive you to our car storage also holding a sign with our company name.

If you have difficulties in locating him/her do not hesitate in contacting him/her on the following telephone number provided in your booking: +34 654 553 932.

What happens if I return the car earlier or later than the agreed time?

When booking online the return time will be requested, it is important you fill in the approximate return time.

If you return the car more than 1 hour from the time that we agreed on the contract you will be charged an extra of 25 Euros from your credit card.

We have a permit of a difference of 59 minutes to pick up earlier your car rental or return it later when your contract ends up.

For this reason, we recommend you to please fill in the return time as exact as possible as we have to send a staff member to pick up the car.

If you have made a mistake with the return/drop off time please send us a mail requesting a time change so that we can amend your booking and we will get back to you as soon as possible: bookings@cheapmalagacarhire.com

Where do I need to return my rental car at Malaga Airport?

On your rental agreement if you have chosen to return the car at Malaga airport you will have previously agreed the return pick up time which is indicated on the rental agreement.

Once you approach Malaga Airport you must follow the SALIDAS/DEPARTURE signs until you arrive at Terminal T3 Departures.

Our representative will be waiting for you in front of the terminal building and will approach you, please ensure he proves he is from our company by showing you a copy of the rental agreement or number plate of the vehicle,

If our representative is not there please make your way to the public parking situated in front of the T2 building about 150 meters away on the left hand side, DO NOT PARK IN THE EXPRESS PARKING.

Once you have found a parking space in the public parking please leave the ticket and car keys underneath the driver’s seat within locking the doors and send our representative a SMS on the following number +34 654 553 932 indicating level and parking space number.

Can I pick up a car at Malaga Train Station if I am not on a train?

It’s not possible to do that, as we are based at Malaga Airport but we offer this service at Malaga Train Station only to customers who are arriving at Maria Zambrano’s Station on a train and can provide us with the train number and city of departure

Timetables, limits and locations

Can I collect my car out of your work hours?

Yes, you can pre-book your car out of our working hours but you will be charged 20 Euros per car in the concept of out of hours.

At wich time do you open your services at Malaga Airport/Maria Zambrano's station?

Monday to Sunday from 08.30 AM to 08.30 PM.

What car will I be provided with?

All bookings are made under a category, within this category we can provide different models, we cannot guarantee a certain model but can guarantee you will be provided with a vehicle with the chosen characteristics.

If for unforeseen circumstances we cannot provide you with a vehicle from the chosen category we will supply you with a superior group at no extra cost.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

If your flight is delayed you don’t have to worry, our representative monitors your flight and will know at what time you arrive.

If the airline company has decided to change the flight number it is necessary you notify us on the following telephone Is: +34 654 553 932

Your booking shall be amended without any cost for you as long as the flight arrives between our hours of delivery.
